For our farm family that comes to see us multiple times through the season! If you're part of the Friday morning "meet at the cornpit" mom's group or a dad who just wants to shoot the apple blaster every day, our season pass is a deal for those who visit the farm multiple times during the fall festival. Cost is $35 per person (admission required for visitors 4 and up). Pass good for season of purchase only.

Intermediate Beekeeping

This class builds on our Beginning Beekeeping class and is geared towards people who have experienced a year or two and are looking for more information and supervised experience and discussion that goes beyond simple beekeeping. Please note that our intermediate class is not recommended for new beekeepers. If you are new to beekeeping or have difficulty keeping bees alive through the winter we recommend our Intro to Beekeeping and our Beginning Beekeeping courses.

It is assumed that at a minimum you have the experience/knowledge of our Beginning Beekeeping Class and a couple of years of beekeeping behind you. This class will focus on more advanced topics that are of interest to beekeepers including splitting, swarming, queen rearing, treatments, and more. If you are wanting to answer "why did my bees not survive winter?", the beginning class will be a better fit. This class will be largely driven by the interests and experiences of attendees, please come ready to get into hives and find answers to questions you didn't even know you had.

Class is 3 hours long. You must pre-register, this is hands on and space is limited. We will be handling live bees, please bring protective gear (veil/jacket, gloves, etc if you own them), (We will have a few suits and veils available for use, or they can be purchased before the class begins)

Class is $30/person, and will be from 2-5 on April 18. Class will be held at Tubbs Berry Farm, 1250 S Park Ave W in Twin Falls.

Gourmet Garlic Salt and Garlic Powder

We grow 8 varieties of gourmet garlic here at Tubbs Berry Farm. I didn't know I was a garlic snob until we started creating our own garlic powders and garlic salts, the difference is going too blow your taste buds. If you're not sure what to choose, our Pink and Pungent garlic salt is our best seller by far and is my go to for pretty much seasoning anything. In fact, I'm working on a keychain so I can take it with me when I travel! Customers have different favorites and swear by one variety or another so you might need to get a couple of different ones to try! The garlic scape powder is green and not too strong by itself, add it to popcorn, eggs, potatoes, etc for a little bit of and earthy garlic flavor. The garlic salt (except for Pink and Pungent which uses Himalayan Salt) is made with our fresh ground garlic and sea salt. I'll try to update the listing shortly with descriptions for everything!

Culinary Garlic

Culinary garlic are 1.25-1.75 inch diameter bulbs. For cooking many people prefer smaller bulbs/cloves so this is the product for you! You get the foodie flavor of our gourmet garlic without the premium seed prices! Store hardnecks 2-4 months, softnecks 4-6. See descriptions below, order in 1 lb increments. FAQ: Can you plant culinary garlic? Absolutely! Will you be disappointed with the results? Absolutely! So get this to eat, if you want to grow your own, pick up some bigger bulbs/cloves from our seed stock so you get better results! Please Note Shipping Time: If your order only contains culinary garlic it will ship when it is available for pick up beginning in August. If your order contains both culinary and seed garlic this will ship with your seed order in September or on your specified ship date. Garlic Scapes

Garlic Scapes

Garlic scapes form on hardneck garlic, similar to the flowering part of other alliums. They have an amazing mild garlic flavor that mellows when roasted or sauteed. Our family loves them tossed with olive oil and grilled (think asparagus meets garlic) or sauteed with fresh zucchini, and they are popular battered and fried at out pumpkin patch every year! They also make a great pesto, we have found it is a little strong fresh but mellows when frozen. Garlic scapes can be frozen.

Scapes come in a reusable microperforated bag and should keep refrigerated in the bag for up to 2 weeks. They may also be frozen or dried. Different varieties have slightly different looks and flavors, all of them mellow when cooked. There are aprox. 40 scapes per pound, aprox 1 gallon ziplock bag.

Generally available the month of June.

Asian Tempest Seed Garlic

Asian Tempest ~ Hardneck Garlic

This is our newest variety, it produces small, flavorful, very hot bulbs that sweeten with cooking. Honestly one of our favorites for flavor but does have small bulbs. Scapes have elongated oriental looking caps. Originated in South Korea. We are still learning what it will do and are selecting for larger bulb size. Bulb size is predominately 1 3/4 inch bulbs.

In Southern Idaho, seed garlic is planted in October and harvested in July so garlic is currently in the ground! We begin taking pre-orders on June 1st and begin shipping September 1st. Want small amounts of several of our amazing garlic varieties? Each sampler pack will include 1/4 lb each of our choice of 4 different varieties, 1 softneck variety and of 3 hardneck varieties. Varieties are in their own separate bag so you can tell them apart!

Early Italian Seed Garlic

Early Italian ~ Softneck Garlic

Another excellent garlic that has become a classic. This spicy long-time favorite of gourmet cooks, and gardeners is easy to grow and stores well. It is also good for braiding. Early Italian produces extra large white bulbs with purple streaks, and will have about 15 to 20 light purple striped cloves. Approximately 70 to 80 Cloves per Pound. This is one of the biggest varieties that we grow!

Inchelium Red Seed Garlic

Inchelium Red ~ Softneck Garlic

Won “Very Best Softneck” Excellent for braiding. Long lasting mild flavor with just a hint of hot. Flavor can get stronger in storage. Inchelium Red is from the Colville Indian Reservation in Inchelium Washington. This variety is easy to grow and produces large bulbs with dense cloves that store well. Expect 10 to 20 cloves per bulb. Approximately 70 to 80 cloves per pound.

Spanish Roja Seed Garlic

Spanish Roja ~ Hardneck Garlic

This gourmet garlic is famous for its rich, robust, earthy flavor. It produces nicely shaped bulbs with reddish-slashed coverings. Bulbs contain 8 to 12 buff to red colored, easy to peel cloves. This variety is a long time favorite of chefs and market gardeners. Cure well for medium storage. Approximately 50 to 60 cloves per pound.
