Bring a group on a field trip!

Field Trips are for scheduled groups of 10 or more kids that pay with one payment of cash or check during field trip times. Please note that there is a $40 minimum charge for any scheduled field trips. Field trips focus on education and fun, and last about 2 hours. Groups spend about 20 minutes at an activity station and rotate through several stations. Not all groups will get to do all activities. The ton bale maze, slingshots, and corn cannon, and concession stand are closed during field trips. Field trip groups may stay up to 2 hours. Please note we close the maze and playground to field trips at 3 pm to open the big maze for the general public so field trip participants will not be let into the maze area after 3.

It can get cold (and snow) in October, especially in the mornings so dress warm! Schedule field trips early in the month, and later in the day for best weather (usually). If you are worried about pumpkins picked early going bad during the month, just don’t carve them (painting is fine). Uncarved pumpkins are good for weeks, even months!

Homeschool or Mixed Age Groups: If our regular field trip options aren’t great for your groups, check out our homeschool day in September. Discount rate, everything is open, educational, and no rotations or time limits!

Field trips are available Monday – Thursday from 8:30-2. There is also a Field Trip Flier you can download to send home with the kids!

Group Minimums

Field Trips are for scheduled groups of 10 or more kids that pay with one payment of cash or check during field trip times. Please note that there is a $40 minimum charge for any scheduled field trips. Field trips focus on education and fun, and last about 2 hours. Groups spend about 20 minutes at an activity station and rotate through several stations. Not all groups will get to do all activities. The ton bale maze, slingshots, and corn cannon, and concession stand are closed during field trips. Field trip groups may stay up to 2.5 hours. Please note we close the maze and playground to field trips at 3 pm to open the big maze for the general public so field trip participants will not be let into the maze area after 3.

Attention: If your group has less than 10 kids, doesn’t want to pay as a group, wants to experience the ton bale maze, cannons and slingshots, and doesn’t want to follow field trip rotation time limits, we are open on  Fridays to the general public from 10-9, no scheduling necessary! (Groups are welcome to come on Fridays, please note that we will not do field trip rotations on these days and will be open to the public.)

Activity Descriptions

Groups must stay with their group and rotate stations, they will get aprox 20 minutes in each area.

Station 1: Hayride: Kids can learn a little about the farm and how things grow. This is tailored to the age of the kids. Talk to us if you have specific curriculum requirements that you would like to have us cover, we will do our best to see that it happens!
Station 2: Petting Zoo (feedcups come with some of the packages, or feed machines take quarters)
Station 3: Pumpkin Patch (students may choose 1 small pumpkin to take home if it comes with their package)
Station 4: Small bale kid Maze/Playground
Station 5: Big Slides
Station 6: Big Maze and slide (please note only a small section of the giant maze is open during field trip hours so we don’t lose kids!)
Other Stations may be available as needed for groups of 100 or more.

Attention: If your group has less than 10 kids, doesn’t want to pay as a group, wants to experience the ton bale maze, cannons and slingshots, and doesn’t want to follow field trip rotation time limits, we are open on Thursdays and Fridays to the general public from 10-9, no scheduling necessary! (Groups are welcome to come on Thursdays and Fridays, please note that we will not do field trip rotations on these days and will be open to the public.)

Groups under 15 kids

We may be able to combine you with another small group and work you in on days that show they are booked, so email or call! Please remember there is a $40 minimum and you must make 1 combined payment. Please count all participating children regardless of age. (3 months old probably not participating, my 18 month old definitely is, you know your kids). You may also enjoy coming on Thursdays or Fridays, check out our Homeschool Day on September 30!

Groups of 30+ Kids

Field trip rotations are designed for  1 class or about 25-30 kids. If you are bringing multiple classes, you will need a slot for each group of about 25 kids. If you let me know in the notes I can block out the other time slots if they are still available, or you can make a reservation for each time slot. On the reservation form you can put either total students for all groups in each reservation time or the number in each class. Just let me know in the notes of one of the registration how many total and how many classes.

Chaperones

There is no charge for adult chaperones on field trips, however participating siblings pay field trip rates when they accompany the group. If possible, please let us know how many extras there will be!

Payment Options

The calendar will not request payment when you book. We can take a PO from Twin Falls School District, or take cash, card or check payment the day of the field trip. If participants are paying individually please make plans to collect from them and make one combined payment during your field trip. Please note that we do these at cost so we do have a $40 minimum for small groups.

Please note that the price is for all participating children, regardless of age. Price includes Idaho Sales Tax. If you are tax exempt, please bring an ST-101 with you. Please make checks payable to Tubbs Berry Farm.

Can we eat lunch at the farm?

If you plan on eating lunch on the farm, you must eat it before or after your reservation. If you need to eat in the middle, we will have to use one of your station times for lunch and you will miss that activity. Just come early to eat before your field trip starts or if you have a morning field trip plan on eating after. If you schedule a field trip for 11 and plan on eating at noon you will miss part of your field trip. If you schedule for 11, plan on eating at 1 when the field trip ends.
Does not apply to groups over 100 people. Groups over 100 students may plan longer field trips and food breaks, please contact me or leave me information in the notes.

We have party rooms, pavilions, or the grassy area in the parking lot that you can eat in!

What is the candy cannon?

The Candy Cannon is like an instant pinata and is available upon request for groups of 25 or more. You need to provide the candy to shoot, plus 1 lb of salt water taffy that acts as the wadding, and must let us know in advance so we can set it up. There is no charge for the cannon, you just need to provide the candy! The cannon shoots the candy into the air into a field and kids can scramble to pick it up.

What about extra siblings coming?

There is no charge for adult chaperones on field trips, however participating siblings pay the discount field trip rates when they accompany the group. If possible, please let us know how many extras there will be!

Please count all participating children regardless of age. (3 months old probably not participating, my 18 month old definitely is, you know your kids).

Schedule the start time of your field trip, your first hayride will start at that time, if you are late you will miss it! If you are eating lunch first, schedule the time the field trip starts, not when lunch starts. Do not plan lunch in the middle of the rotation. (Yes, there are exceptions for groups over 100). We recommend planning on 2 hours for your field trip. If your field trip will last less than an hour and a half, please let us know so we can rotate you through as many stations as possible! You will need one time slot for each group of about 25 kids. (If you are over 35 people you will need multiple time slots in a row).
Groups under 100 kids may stay up to 2 hours, we recommend you plan at least an hour and a half. Groups over 100 we recommend 20-30 minutes for each class or group of 25.

If you are booking one time slot choose your time and hit the “book” button.

If you are booking multiple slots choose “select” and it will let you put them in a cart and complete information one time. After choosing all your time slots click on the box on the top left of the reservation calendar to enter information and reserve all the slots. (Please note that there is a 15 minute hold on slots added to your cart to keep others from grabbing them while you are checking out. That means that if you leave the page and come back the slots may show booked until that 15 minute hold is released so you will have to wait a few minutes and try again.)

If you can’t find an available time, please contact us, we will do our best to get you scheduled! Field trips may be scheduled Monday – Thursday from 8:30-2. Please note that field trip groups will not be allowed back into the maze area after 3.

If you do not receive a confirmation within 2 work days please contact me! Also, if you have large groups plan on booking 1 slot for each group of around 25 kids. So if you have 60 kids you’ll need to find a day with 2 time slots in a row.

Tip: hit the refresh button just before you book, this helps update the calendar in case someone booked the slot just before you. Otherwise the reservation comes in but it won’t let me approve it because there’s another reservation in front of it for the same time.

Oct. 24 I can still fit single station groups in 9-11, 11-1, and 1-3 if you need that day. Please email field trip information to info@tubbsberryfarm.com
