Intermediate Beekeeping

This class builds on our Beginning Beekeeping class. Both classes are offered the same day, you are welcome to sign up and do both the same day.

This is a hands on class geared towards those who have bees and would like a little more information and supervised experience handling them and more discussion beyond simple beekeeping. It is assumed that at a minimum you have the experience/knowledge of our Beginning Beekeeping Class, you are welcome to take both classes the same day.  This class will focus on more advanced topics that are of interest to new beekeepers including splitting, swarming, queen rearing, treatments, and more. If you are wanting to answer “why did my bees not survive winter?”, the beginning class will be a better fit.

Class is 3 hours long. You must pre-register, this is hands on and space is limited. We will be handling live bees, please bring protective gear (veil/jacket, gloves, etc if you own them), (We will have a few suits and veils available for use, or they can be purchased before the class begins)

Class is $25/person, and will be from 2-5 on April 12 or April 13th (same class offered 2 different days, choose your day when you register)
